James Clarke MNAEA, MARLA — Managing Director
Local to Wakefield, James has handled the sale of a number of the areas most distinctive properties. James is a qualified member of the National Association of Estate Agents and the Association of Residential Lettings Agents. He has built a reputation for providing excellent customer service during a career which spans over 25 years throughout West and North Yorkshire. He has a vast knowledge of the industry from the sale of first time buyer properties, to larger executive homes. He is also trusted by a number of the large builders and developers in the area to advise on development opportunities, pricing and part exchange.
Craig Hepworth MNAEA — Director
Based at our Pontefract office, Craig has over 20 years experience in the industry, most of this time has been spent working within the Five Towns area. With an extensive knowledge of all aspects of the property market Craig is able to provide expert advice on all property matters. Craig was born in Pontefract and still lives in the area with his wife and family. Craig is a fully qualified Domestic Energy Assesor and a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
Louise Higginbottom MNAEA - Director — Sales Manager
Louise has worked in the property sales and new homes industry in and around the Wakefield area for over 25 years and is now in her 17th year with Hodsons. She is a qualified member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
Lynne Baker MARLA - Director — Lettings Manager
Lynne has worked in the Estate Agency industry for 30 years of which over 22 years have been with Hodsons Estate Agents, originally employed to work in both Sales and Rentals she has been Lettings Manager for the last 12 years and is a qualified member of ARLA.
Kerry Whiteley — Assistant Lettings Manager
Kerry has been with Hodsons for 6 years. Having previously worked for one of our competitors, Kerry has outstanding knowledge of the property lettings market. She has responsibility to advise our landlords on market appraisals and potential property yields. Kerry also has an excellent understanding of current legislation and therefore is a useful source of information to our clients and a most valuable member of our team.
Melissa Hartley — Apprentice Lettings Manager
Melissa joined Hodsons in February 2020 as an Apprentice Lettings Manager. Melissa is from Normanton and attended Freeston Academy. She then went on to New College Pontefract to study Media, Photography and Art and Design at A level. Currently Melissa is working towards the Level 3 Award in Residential Letting and Property Management. On a daily basis she is responsible for dealing with property repairs and maintenance. Melissa shows real enthusiasm to her role and we are confident that with the support of our experienced lettings colleagues, she will become a great asset to the team.
Phillip Hodson — Chairman
Educated at QEGS Wakefield and Cambridge University, Phillip built the Oval Insurance Group into a major +£100m turnover national business employing 1200 persons before the business was acquired by A J Gallagher in 2014. Amongst his other business interests is Hodsons Estate Agents Ltd which he established in 1991 with Mark Adams. When Mark emigrated to Canada in 2003 Phillip re-acquired the business. Whilst not involved on a day to day basis he takes a keen interest in both the sales and lettings divisions and he would like to build up a more widely spread regional practice in due course.
